Jack Davis, Former Congressman Turned WMAY/Springfield, MA Speak Host, Dies At 82

  • JACK DAVIS, a retired U.S. Congressman who became a talk show host at WMAY-A/SPRINGFIELD, IL, died SUNDAY (2/4) at 82 in SPRINGFIELD, according to the .  He had been battling dementia for several years.

    The CHICAGO native and Navy veteran first built a steel business, then sold it to go into politics,serving in the ILLINOIS General Assembly for a decade before being elected to Congress; DAVIS then served as Assistant Secretary in the Air Force, returning to ILLINOIS and joining WMAY.
